I’m Michelle, a qualified and experienced counsellor. I set up Counselling Connect because I believe the process of getting started with therapy is becoming increasingly difficult, and it shouldn’t be.
Making the decision to start therapy is hard enough, without having to then navigate the minefield of directories, profiles, and acronyms.
I will help you cut through the jargon, and simplify your search, so you can spend your time and energy focusing on what you need.
There’s no algorithm here, no AI matching - just a real human, who wants to help you get started and find the therapy you deserve.

What is Counselling Connect?
Counselling Connect has been developed by an experienced counsellor who understands the minefield of trying to find the right therapist, especially when you’re time-poor and already feeling, well, not at your best.
There are many different types of therapy, many approaches and styles - and many many acronyms.
They are often described in different ways by different people, so it isn’t always obvious which might suit you - or what these differences really mean in practice, especially if you’re new to therapy.
Counselling directories are full of excellent therapists, but it’s often hard to know where to start.
It can feel overwhelming, which is the opposite of how it’s supposed to feel.
For less than the cost of a therapy session, I can help you make sense of it all and give you a clear, confident head start. I can also connect you to my network of trusted, reliable counsellors.

How it works
Therapy Guidance Call
(30 mins)
We’ll talk through what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re unsure about, and what might matter most for you when choosing a therapist.
I can answer any questions you may have and help you understand what to look for, what the different terms mean, and how to approach counselling directories with more confidence and clarity - whether you choose to find someone yourself or not.
Optional Personalised Matching and Recommendation (£50)
If you like, I can use my professional network to suggest 2–3 suitable therapists, based on what we’ve discussed in your Therapy Guidance Call.
This can save you the frustration of waiting for replies, being told someone isn’t available, or discovering after a first session that the fit isn’t quite right.
While I can’t promise a perfect match (although I’ll try my best) and I can’t co-ordinate diaries, I will take the time to understand what you’re looking for and suggest therapists who may be able to help you with your specific needs.
By tapping into my personal network, I will be giving you recommendations of therapists who are experienced, trusted and reliable.
There is no obligation to move forward with them, but you will be given options to explore in your own way, in your own time.
